1. Johann ORLOWSKI

Johann Orlowski was born Sept 14, 1837 in Poland. It was passed down through oral history that Johann was orphaned as a child and was adopted by a family of the same name.

As a child he went to West-Prueson, Germany. There he met Anna Black Swartz whom he married on April 12, 1864.

He was a soldier in the Austrian-Prussian war of 1865-1866. Later, in the Prussian-French was 1870-71.

He and Anna immigrated to America in 1881 and lived in Boston, Mass, working 3 years on the railroad. From there they moved to Illinois and lived in Mineer County.  He also worked there on the railroad.

They came to Minnesota in 1892, secured as 80 acre farm, south of Lakefield, which was their family home for 19 years. They moved into Lakefield retiring in the year 1910.

12 children were born to this union. 4 children died in infancy. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1914.
